We set out at about 11am. There was some wind, but not a lot. We have some friends visiting, Dom & Teresa, Dave & Jessica and Martin & Claire.

Sarah and I sailed with Jessica, Teresa and Martin. They have all sailed a bit. Dom and Teresa are both in the harness, but Dom and Dave can't sail at the moment as they are recovering from back injuries. Claire had a shoulder operation last year, so she just lounged on the beach with Dom and Dave. (I missed out on a decent keepy-uppy football session, Jessica and Claire both play for Telford Jacks FC).

Everyone was sailing well, and Jessica and Martin both improved their stance. (You need to get into a harness guys). ;). They both achieved some decent speed, but need to make that next step. Next time I'll make sure we do some harness work.

Last year on a Windsurfing holiday (where we all went as a group) Teresa had a problem with the wind, a small freak tornado caught her board and lifted it right over her head. (I was on the beach and had to avoid three flying boards that came off the rack). This was the second freak tornado of the day and it dislocated her shoulder. She did especially well today, considering this was the first time she had sailed since and the extent of the injury.

The wind was patchy rather than gusty, but it picked up enough to make it a good session, Sarah was blasting around the bay, fully powered up on her 6.4, while I, also on a 6.4 found it hard to get going, but I had some really good long reaches. It made it a good technical session.

I saw Teresa in her harness, sailing along quite nicely, but as the wind was now strong enough, I did the decent thing, I went off on a couple of nice long reaches and left everyone to their own devices.

I made a couple of decent attempts at a gybe, but didn't really finish them off.

A nice sail, in nice weather, and with some good friends, you can't ask for much more.
